Silvertone Guitar

Up on the auction block I have an excellent condition vintage Silvertone hollowbody electric guitar, model 1418, made in the late 60's to early 70's, perfect for the collector. It is in excellent condition for its age, a few light scratches, a few surface marks on the back (possibly belt buckle), a few nicks (dings) on the headstock. Not too shabby for being over 40 years old! It was cleaned and tested by our guitar tech and it does play. 

Here are some specs about it:

*tri burst, all original plus original case and cord (case does show wear), arched back, rosewood fretboard, tremelo bar, multiple bound, original inlay on the pickup.

The 1418 lived a short life. Only available in the Spring/Summer 1968 catalog (one of two Made In Japan electrics that season), it didn't get to stick around for the onslaught in the Fall '68 catalog, replaced by its brother, the 1455.
The 1418 was one of the first guitars to 'hit the beach' in preparation of the Fall 1968 Japanese Invasion of the electric guitar portion of the Sears catalog. Based on the Teisco EP-2L, which was itself kinda ES-335ish, it was the only one in this 'family' to share the EP-2L 'Mt. Fuji' headstock. It was the predecessor to the much longer-lived (and far more common) Silvertone 1455 and 1456.
