Vintage '59 Silvertone Model 1434 Medalist
While most Silvertone amps were stuck with generic numbers, this top of the line amp received the distinct honor of actually being named! The Medalist is one of the very best Danelectro made amps. This amp has been meticulously gone over and is ready for anything you can throw at it. It might not be a looker anymore but it has it where it counts. The inside chassis has been cleaned and the necessary caps have been replaced. It received some NOS tubes and a new set of Celestion Vintage 30 speakers that are a great pair for the 50 watts of goodness contained in this fat tone monster. It has two channels and a very vibe-y tremolo circuit. Like I said, she has some tales to tell. The leather handle has torn and the covering is peeling here and there. There are some dings/dents on the edges but the cabinet itself has been reinforced from the inside and is solid. It has two channels with a nice and responsive hi/low EQ. All in all, a total kick @ss amp for being 50 years old.
