This is a rare matching set (Sears model 1452L) of Silvertone Danelectro Model 1450L Guiter, and Model 1451 Amp. This 50 year old guitar and amp combination was advertsied by Sears in their Christmas Wish catalogues only (never in the main seasonal catalogues). I know this because I visited the Simpson Sears catalogue archives and photocopied 10 years worth of guitar pages from the catalogues. This set is from the 1959 Christmas Catalogue. Pots date 1376024 and the cavity has the initials "JM". The guitar is a 3/4 scale beginner model, chocolate brown with fine sparkle flecks. The guitar particularly is in very nice condition, and both are in excellent working order. The lipstick pickup has a slight crack in the casing (see picture), but otherwise operates perfectly. The leather handle on the amp is worn and cracked, but has not broken. The capacitor has been replaced, but otherwise is 100% original. Here's your chance to buy one of Danelectro's classic hollow masonite-body electric guitars.
Most sellers do not know the true vintage of this guitar, and refer to it as a U1, which it is not. Note the placement of the lipstick pickup. It is centrally located between the bridge and the neck. U1's single pickups are located closer to the neck. And the 18 fret keyboard make it unique. Own a piece of guitar history.
