Up for auction is a very nice Silvertone 1483. These were originally made for bass, but many guitar and harmonica players like it too. Makes a real good harp amp. Doesn't have all that gain and distortion stuff you find on guitar amps. It has the original Silvertone 2- 6L6GC's and 6FQ7 tubes. The two 12AX7 preamp tubes and the 5Y3GT rectifier tube have been replaced. It has the original 15" Jensen speaker. It has two channels each with two inputs, volume, bass and treble. There is an on/off, stand-by and ground switch. A three prong plug has been added. The speaker cord is still hard wired into the speaker cabinet and has a 1/4" plug which can be plugged into the 1/4" jack on back of the amp. This makes it where you can plug other speaker cabs into it as long as it is 8 ohm. Everything works.
Earlier this year I took it to a local amp guy to have it checked out due to its age. He replaced a couple of capacitors and a resistor. He checked the tubes and they all tested good. He also cleaned all the pots.
As you can see by the pictures it is in good shape. Silvertone was never known for their cabinets, but their amps were hard to beat. Sorry about the picture quality, but it's all I have for now. The little black dots and circles are on the camera. You can see the dots on the car in the background too. I've tried several times to wipe the lens, but I'm starting to believe it's on the inside. It looks as though someone may have had wheels or something on the bottom at one time. The rubber feet are there, but one definitely needs to be replaced. I've tried to cover everything the best I can. Feel free to ask questions before bidding. I work construction during the day so I'm not around a computer until the evening. Due to the age of this amplifier it is an "As Is" sell.
Shipping cost is based on the size and weight of the box. This weighs about 50 pounds.
