OK... A little about me:
I
have sold over 400 guitars and instruments on Ebay. Many of them very
expensive vintage gems. Obviously by my feedback, I must be doing
something right. I
only sell guitars that play well, sound good and that are an excellent
value. I manage the guitar
dept. of a major music chain. I acquire guitars for myself at special
pricing and get to play many of them from all the major big name
manufacturers. I am a pro player and a serious collector. I have over
fifteen vintage guitars. Ten of them Fenders, Martins and Gibsons. I
have played and own the best of the best so I know a little bit about
this stuff. One of my hobbies is to
select what I believe to be a great guitar, have my tech set it up and
send it out into the world in the hopes that a gifted player will get a
hold of it and put it to good use. Here's the good stuff on this beauty.
This guitar sounds and plays well. A true GEM! The happy man on the beach got his vintage Silvertone:)
Considering it's 47 years old, the guitar is in very good condition all around. Original split lipstick pup covers. Pre Kluson boxed tuners and auto-shim (standard on 1963 U1 bass) The "S" in Silvertone is partially missing. The bass is nicely balanced and light as a feather. Perfectly set up by luthier Chris Marshall. Chris was one of Benedetto's top luthiers. Check out Benedetto archtop guitars online. They are one of the finest jazz guitar makers on the planet. Only a few nicks or scratches. Nothing major. Frets are in good shape. No dead spots. Beautiful slim neck is straight and true. The finish, tuners, electronics, hardware and appointments are very good all around. This guitar's tone quality is excellent. The case is worn, the hinges are loosening, but it still functions well and is very plush. The guitar has that sweet 60's Beach boy surf tone that no modern guitar can reproduce. Whoever gets this guitar is going to have many envious friends.
NOTE: You are buying a vintage instrument. I've tried to describe it as best I can. Sound quality and playability are arbitrary and not an acceptable reason to return the instrument. You are buying the instrument for its vintage value first and foremost. We try to use all available information and be as accurate as possible regarding the year it was manufactured... but cannot always guarantee an exact date. It's important to do your own research as well. The only acceptable return for refund is if the instrument was damaged in transit. Damaged goods will need to be inspected and verified by UPS. Refunds will be given after UPS acknowledges responsibility. Refunds can take up to 45 days after being granted by the carrier. I'm adding this information so there are no surprises and everybody understands the terms and conditions of this sale. I try to be fair with all my customers. Please do not purchase this instrument if you do not agree with these terms.
PLEASE MAKE PAYMENT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF PURCHASE. GUITAR WILL BE PROFESSIONALLY PACKAGED AND SHIPPED. SORRY, NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING.
