Silvertone 1442 Bass Guitar----these were made by Danelectro from 1966-69 this is a short-scale ( 30") bass.
Original parts fetishists should probably stop reading at this point. When I got this bass it was in pretty bad shape---original pickup was missing and pickguard was scuffed and beat up. So this is what I did:
Had a new  pearloid pickguard made.
Replaced the original bridge with the newer designed Dano bridge which allows for correct intonation.
This was originally a one pickup bass but I added a PAIR of Chandler lipstick tubes.
Replaced the poorly considered tuners---these were essentially guitar tuners and not really made for bass strings. I used a set of Grovers that are, yes, guitars tuners but have a larger diameter shaft and work better with bass strings. Great retro look as well.
The back of the neck had some divots and dings so I removed the finish, sanded and steel-wooled it and then oiled it.  After you play an oiled-finished neck you won't want to play on a finished one. I have done this to most of my basses.
The result is a totally gig/recording worthy axe. Retains the original lipsick-tube vibe with additional tonal possibilities. If you like short-scale basses you will dig this. I have to thin the herd.  No case but the groovy Gretsch knobs are included. Will calculate shipping based on location. No overseas shipping.

I case you are wondering the bass plays great---you could probably even lower the action more.       The Silvertone logo is slightly damaged but you can buy a nice repro from BadBannana here on ebay.
