The RARE 1407 TELE is a Japanese-made clone (sorta) of the
famous Fender Telecasterâ„¢. Teisco-made (maybe Univox). This 1970 vintage silvertone guitar is much more rare than it's popular sister the 1413 TELE, and this one is all original, with a beautiful mahogany neck that plays like butter. You will not find another complete original 1407 TELE ANYWHERE! This guitar is a serious player! The warm tones of this 1407 really stand out at mid guitar volume-and at a lightly broken up full guitar volume-turns into a crunchy monster, or a giant beast depending on your guitar tone setting. The straight up and down adjustable bridge keeps this teddy bear guitar in perfect tune, even while playing a gig. The tuners are a bit stiff, and there are 2 tuner arms that are just slightly bent. It does not affect the guitar staying in tune, whatsoever. Note, the pointer rings under the VT knobs, 3 ply pickgaurd, Brazilian rosewood/bound fingerboard, truss rod adjustment bolt at the bottom of the neck are oddly fancy standards for this vintage Silvertone TELE.
There are some lacquer cracks in the finish, as well as a few small dings on the neck and headstock, and ONE small chip in the finish the smaller than a shelled sunflower seed (back-bass side edge of the body).
I have had this professionally set up with 10/46's, and the intonation is really good-lots of sustain and from that gorgeous neck!
