This is a very cool Silvertone 1321 in what they called "bronze." It hasn't been refinished and the serial number is 1088 (tenth week of 1958.) As far as I could ascertain, it's the same as a Danelectro U1, the one with the "Peanut" body. I plugged it in yesterday and everything worked as it should.

It's all original except that someone way back had numbered the frets in very small white characters; I guess this was their first guitar. I flaked a bit of one off with my fingernail, btw. There are volume and tone knobs (originals) and the toggle switch (original) accesses three pre-set tones, which can then be varied some more with the tone knob. Anyway, it's been gathering dust here for a while and it should be with someone who'd actually use it. The fabric on the sides is intact and the strap pegs are the originals. There is a tiny ding on the back of the neck near the body (see pictures) but, other than that and the aforementioned little neck-numbers, I have found no issues. It's all there, all original, and it's in much better condition than most any of these I've seen for sale. A few days ago, one of these, so worn that it looked like someone went at it with a belt sander, went for $485 (eBay item number 270896592062) so I'm comfortable starting this off at $550.

No matter what the various check boxes say in the listing, the terms are as follows:

Shipping, mega-insured, will be $50 to the contiguous 48 states; Alaska, Hawaii and other countries will cost more and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Seeing as I'm new to selling anything that may be wanted somewhere 5000 miles away, all I can say is I'm not going to profit on the shipping costs or the plywood. I'll charge you only what it costs me. For international buyers, you can pay me for the guitar itself, after which, I’ll go to the carrier to get a price for the shipping. Then, when I receive the shipping cost, I’ll send it out. Just bear with me and I'll get it to you safe and sound. It'll be boxed up and padded well inside a strong plywood crate. I used to make cabinets so have no fear; it'll get to you safely.

Ask any questions before bidding as this will be a final sale. Please, payment is expected within 7 calendar days of auction's end or I'll relist it and make a non-paying bidder report. I apologize if I sound harsh but I was strung along for a looong time once and don't want to repeat that nightmare. If you're local enough, I'll also accept cash and you can pick it up in person. Please contact me within 48 hours of auction's end so I'm not chewing my nails down to the nub. Thank you.

Note: The black spots on the bridge end of the strings is some kind of fuzzy dampening material they used to put on those old flat-wound strings. It's on the strings, not on the guitar.

Someone, snap this up; a nice one like this doesn't come around that often. I love the looks of it but I’m a floating bridge kind of guy. This thing should be played!
