Up for auction is a 1960's Silvertone 1444 bass which was manufactured by Danelectro for Sears. The bass is in great condition for its age. The are few dings and scrapes, but nothing too unsightly and nothing the really shows up in the photos. The neck is straight and the frets are in excellent condition. This is Danelectro's 29-3/4" scale model. The neck is longer and thus has more frets than the Dano short horn basses. The scale is the same as the short horns, but the short horns have their bridges set further back in the body. The longer neck and additional frets of the 1444 make it a much more playable bass by today's standards. Missing are the pick guard and the raised headstock logo.
