This a vintage 1960s Teisco made Silvertone model 1436. It is the exact same guitar as a Teisco model WG-2L. It has a large 1 and 3/8 inches thick body of solid dark mahogany. It has a three piece 20 fret 24.75 inch scale neck that tends to a 'V' shape. The guitar is fun to play, but the action is a tad high after the 12th fret. The guitar has a lot of finish crazing and its fair share of marks and nicks. There is some finish loss around the edges, especially the back, where the dark mahogany body shows through. But this guitar would look good even if all the finish was ripped off. It has a substantial feel at a little over 9 lbs. In terms of funkadelic 60s Japanese psycho guitars, if the K-2L is a sleek surf/punk guitar that landed in a space ship with George Jetson, then by comparison this is a burning blues rock mojocaster that was spewed up from the depths of the Marianas trench by Godzilla. Seriously though, while you probably wouldn't want to make this your main guitar, unless you can set it up a bit better than I did, it would look good in anyone's collection. Or it would make an awesome slide machine. The guitar has two volumes, one for each pickup. Each pickup has a dual rocker switch, an on/off and a tone switch. I haven't looked under the hood completely, just the bottom panel, so I'm not sure what the slider switch is. The electronics work good. Insured shipping is $27.95 in the lower 48 United States, more to HI and AK. International bidders see shipping tab above for rates. Email questions/comments.
