This Silvertone Archtop Electric Hollow Body guitar is 100% original and has been stored away untouched for decades; it is in NEW/MINT condition. Judging from its exceptional new condition, I would conclude that this guitar has less then just an hour or two of total play time on it. Obviously, the original owner did not use or play this guitar; it's just in too good of condition for that! This auction also includes the original, near mint condition carrying case, plus much more. READ ON PLEASE. This guitar was made in Japan and sold by the Sears, Roebuck company, in 1968. This guitar is actually a copy of a Gibson guitar, Gibson Model ES335. The Model number on this guitar is (319.14559) that number is stamped into the metal neck mount plate on the back side of the guitar. This Guitar sounds great and plays nicely, all the electronics operate just as they should.
When I was 12 years old, in 1968, I received as a Christmas gift, this exact model of guitar from my folks. They had ordered it from the Sears catalog. It was my first electric guitar. Then about 18 years ago, I spotted this one that I'm selling today at an estate sale in Seattle. I could hardly believe my eyes, there it was, the exact same model of guitar that I received for Christmas back in 1968. Even back 18 years ago when I bought it, I was floored by how perfect its condition was. I just had to have it, so I bought it! I took it home, tuned it up a bit and played it for a few minutes. I then put it away in my closet and basically never touched it much for all these years. I actually purchased it for sentimental reasons more then anything else. By looking at and playing this guitar, one would think that it's brand new. It's hard to believe that it's 42 years old. The neck and fret board are as straight and nice as one could ever ask for.
I recently lost my job, so I'm now forced to sell it, along with some other collectible guitars that I've collected over the years. If you're looking for a nice Silvertone, and you're very picky about condition, then your search is over. I don't know how one could ever find one that's in better condition then what this one is in. It really is perfect in all aspects. There are no scratches, chips, dings or nicks in the finish anywhere to be found, even the pick gaurd appears that it's never hardly ever been touched by a guitar pick. I've seen NEW GUITARS on display at guitar shops, that show much more signs of play wear then this one has. I'm not just saying that, this is a FACT. This truly is a very RARE FIND.
The lucky buyer of this guitar will also be floored when they open it up and see just how fantastic its condition is, so perhaps you should be sitting down when you open it up, it really is that fine!!!
This auction also includes the original near mint condition, semi-hard-shell case. Even better yet, it also includes the original Silvertone owner’s manual that offers info. about Silvertone guitars and how to care for them. We're not quite done yet...It comes with the original neck truss rod tension adjustment tool, this tool is still in its original little paper bag. It even comes with part of the original cardboard box that it was sold in. It's actually one end of the cardboard box that has a paper sticker on it that shows where it was sold. The paper sticker on the cardboard is a bit hard to read, because of fading and part of the address sticker is missing. It was originally sold at Sears and Roebuck (???? Washington Ave, in Hollywood Florida.)
I understand all this may sound just too darn good to be true, well, I'm here to tell you, IT'S NOT too good to be true. Just look at my feedback, you can clearly see that I'm 100% honest about the condition of everything that I sell.
I will ship world wide. Buyer pays for shipping cost with insurance. I do not charge for handling. You pay only the exact shipping cost. I also guarantee everything I sell. My condition descriptions are nothing but FACT, I hide nothing from you. I want the new owner to be a happy owner, not a ticked off owner. Check my feedback, you can see I'm a 100% honest seller!
