1960s Sears Silvertone 1485 175w 2 channel, HEAD ONLY. This is the amp Jack White uses to get his gritty vintage tube tone. This amp is Stadium loud and clean with tons of headroom that breaks up into some really unique sounding grit. Far more than a Fender and grittier than a Marshall. Great for Blues and Hard Rock, to country or whatever. Ive had this amp for 10 years. It has recently been serviced with new tubes. 4 Mesa Boogie 6L6 powertubes. The preamp tubes are still good but have been in the amp for a few years. This amp has stayed in my home and never left. It is not my main amp so it hasnt seen much use. The amp is all original except for 2 tube sockets that have been replaced as well as the speaker cable that was originally hard wired to a 6x10 cab which is not included in this sale. I played the amp through a 2x12 and it was sweet sounding. Huge bottom and glassy top end.
The bad: Although the amp has no problems whatsoever, it is an old amp and therefore some of the parts are showing age. None of the pots have been replaced and there is some scratchy ones. Channel one is very clean but there is some noise on the 2nd channel pots when adjusting them. Occasionally you can hear it come through the speaker when you are playing but recently I jammed for hours on ch1 with crystal clear performance. Just know this is a 50 year old amp and a thorough servicing has not been done so all the pots should be cleaned. Other than that the amp works great. VERY LOUD.
