Here we have a 1950s Silvertone H694 professional archtop built by "Harmony" between 1951-1954 (see this link: http://harmony.demont.net/model.php?id=778).
This guitar has a SOLID spruce top and SOLID maple back and sides. It
is completely playable, and no issues except cosmetic wear and some
non-original parts.
Very nice patina in the finish on this one. Bridge and Tailpiece may not
be original, non-original pick guard. Action is very low with tons of
room to raise, and you can lower it some more if you like. Neck angle
is excellent; play very easily; frets in great shape as is the
fingerboard. There are some finish cracks on the back but nothing that
appears to go through - everything is tight; tuners work great; shows
usual wear for a guitar this age but nothing major. Pearl inlays on the fretboard are just beautiful--this was one of the high-end archtops from this period. Similar to an old Gibson in construction, but at a fraction of the cost.
Guitar plays well down the neck. There is some wear and tear on this guitar, from years of playing, but nothing that keeps it from playing and sounding great. The neck angle is perfect--I do not know the history of this guitar, but it may have had a neck re-set at some time because it plays so well. If you want more pictures of anything specific, please ask!
Please view pictures, and ask any questions before bidding. The logo on the headstock is a bit faded, but you can make it out easily enough, and a seller on eBay sells reproduction logos if you want to brighten it up a bit.
I may trade for other Harmony-made vintage ELECTRIC guitars (I can add cash if needed)--email me any offer at mrlutton@gmail.com
No case included, but I know how to pack a guitar without a case--I have 100% feedback as a seller, selling mostly vintage Harmony guitars, and have never had a shipping issue thus far. I use USPS because they are the only shipping company I have never had an issue with.
I will not issue partial refunds due to the condition of the guitar--I
have described it well here. I have had one bad experience with a buyer
who wanted hundreds of dollars in refunds after the sale, due to some
dings on a high-end guitar (which were pictures and described in the
auction). He was obviously a scam artist, but please not, all sales are
final unless the guitar is in a completely different condition than
described here. Ebay forces me to accept returns if the guitar is
misrepresented in the auction--I assure you, what I say is true, and I
have sold MANY Harmony guitars recently (check my feedback and completed
listings...)
PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING.
Shipping
is a flat $35, including insurance and materials, within the continental USA--Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and
any other country, please contact me BEFORE buying or making an offer. I
will ship Internationally if you agree to pay whatever it costs me--I
will only charge actual shipping/materials.
Good luck! Please view all photos, and ask for more if you are unsure about the condition of the item.
