Silvertone Guitar

Up for auction is a very attractive, old archtop Silvertone acoustic jazz guitar.  This guitar has been well used over the many years, and well taken care of.  The guitar is fully blocked, lined and braced, all in solid condition.  The top binding is real binding, not painted as on many.This guitar is solid with no repairs needed.  The guitar has the normal wear for its age, as can be seen in the photos, but nothing which is excessive.  This is an awesome guitar, I tuned it a week ago, and just picked it up again and still in perfect tune.  This was advertised originally as a 'Concert Guitar", when it was sold new and can have a loud voice, but I have played it recently and can play any type of music on it, and it stays with it, slow and sweet or rocking and playing the blues.  Very nice for jazz riffs.  We have recently repaired 3 cracks in the back, the sides and top were fine.  This guitar has a really nice, full sound with great resonation and is very easy to play.  The fretboard is fine, but the frets are a little higher than I like them, but can be filed for smoother action.  Plays very nicely with perfect intonation, no neck work needed.   This is an awesome acoustic guitar with a great sound and ready to play or set in a collection.  This name Silvertone is faded on the headstock, but still readable.  Inside, is stamped:   S40    11 44     252         The overall size of the guitar is 39-1/2'', the body length is 19-3/8'', the lower is 15-3/8'' wide, the upper is 11-1/8'' and the middle is 9-3/8'' and the fingerboard is 1-3/4'' wide at the nut.   Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.
